“We don’t want to sell ourselves short” – this was one of the many specification of the South African landlord that speaks also German very well since he had lived some time in Europe.

Perspectives have depths and widths.
This house’s depth is an Atrium deep inside in the earth, in the centre of this perspective, where life is focused and centralized to the point! Here it will be nice in hot days for a good hide away in a tropical garden with pond, listening to the water fall. From this “point of view”, the house opens wide towards the northern hemisphere sun and Johannesburg views.
The “Lawn Level” offers garage parking and storing with direct access to a mezzanine level - entertainment area that leads directly to the pool, but also to the kitchen area – ideal for parties for the young and also “still young” – all packed up by Lettie in the nearby servant’s quarter.
First floor is purely living. The central axis of living is a sort of private family lounge with view to the tropical garden, but also to the open sunny side. An open fire place separates lounge from formal dining. Folding glass doors allow enlarging the dining area onto a wide and covered patio with “outdoor dining and relaxing area”. In winter times this patio can be closed with folding glass doors to keep the sun inside the house by storing it in natural stones-feature walls and massive heat storing tiles on the floor.
Second floor offers not only sleeping, but also a centralized Gallery above dining with study and library area with TV. All rooms lead not only onto a common sweeping deck with views to Johannesburg skyline and Sandton, but also to the back of the house atrium tropical garden area.
The” energy boss” will get his own power plant. More than 60 m² can be used for Solar Electricity- and hot water Panels.

From a “perspective point of view” we can say, a house for open minded, but focused people.
